About lfcs-interest

The lfcs-interest mailing list is for anyone interested in the activities of LFCS, the Laboratory for Foundations of Computer Science at the University of Edinburgh. It carries announcements of local events in LFCS, as well as general messages about conferences, funding announcements and job offers in theoretical computer science. The list is also available on the local newsgroup eduni.dcs.lfcs, and as a web archive from 2001 onwards. To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the lfcs-interest Archives.

Using lfcs-interest

To post a message to all the list members, send email to lfcs-interest@inf.ed.ac.uk. The list is mildly moderated: all messages from list members will be circulated at once, but others are held for approval. This can delay messages a day or two. If you regularly post to the list as a non-member (perhaps because you read the newsgroup), you should subscribe and then use the web interface to suspend delivery. This means that the list filter will recognise you. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.

Subscribing to lfcs-interest

Subscribe to lfcs-interest by filling out the following form. If you're having trouble subscribing, please send an email to lfcs-interest-owner at inf.ed.ac.uk . You will be able to edit your subscription details once your subscription is confirmed. This is a closed list, which means your subscription will be held for approval. You will be notified of the list moderator's decision by email. This is also a public list, which means that the list of members list is available to everyone. (but we obscure the addresses so they are not easily recognizable by spammers). Your email address:   You must enter a privacy password. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext.
