TPG short courses:

• Three Hierarchies (Julian Bradfield): A course, probably of three 2-hour slots, to be given towards the end of Semester 1 if there is demand. The course is an introduction to basic hierarchies in descriptive set theory, a taster of some set-theoretic oddities, and an explanation of how such hierarchies turned out to be useful in solving an old problem in modal mu-calculus (about ten years ago).

First year (and later) LFCS PhD students are advised to attend courses selected after discussion with their supervisor. If you plan to attend an Undergraduate or MSc course other than those listed above, it would be polite to ask the course lecturer first. NB: there is no requirement or expectation to undertake the assessment for Undergraduate and MSc courses.
