Task Allocation in Monomorphic Ant Species

Chris Tofts

Abstract: The method whereby ant species with no physical differentation allocate themselves to tasks within a colony is studied. We consider the various tasks as forming a production line, and demonstrate that various algorithms yield a correct arrangement of the individuals. The various models are expressed in the calculus WSCCS, to which we give a brief introduction.
